$10 million prize for solution to healthcare problems

Isn't it a bit odd, though, that the group "judging" the X-Prize for healthcare reform is none other than the biggest for-profit insurer in the country, Wellpoint?!?! Doesn't that raise even the slightest question of conflict-of-interest??
System of reforms aside, a big move to keep premiums down and restore consumer confidence is keep profit out of the motives and bargaining strengths of these carriers. That will at least make it clear that you can't put profits and CEO compensation ahead of patient care, and eliminate a large portion of the "costs" these insurers cite.
well now, mabey they could start by contributing 10 MILLION $$$$$$ to the cause!!!!!!!!!!
I agree !! Start by contributing the 10 million to Medicare, or programs for the poor. The benefit to go to many, rather than ONE !
