Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital Partners With InVivoLink to Boost O.R. Data Collection

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- InVivoLink, LLC (IVL) today announced a new partnership with Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital (IOH), a leading provider of community-based orthopaedic and surgical services. Under the new agreement, IOH will use InVivoLink’s platform to collect clinical, financial and operational data directly from the operating room at the point of service.

The pre-, intra- and post-operative data from orthopaedic procedures – details on joint implants, patient characteristics, physician utilization and more – will provide IOH with a clearer, evidence-based picture of surgery outcomes, ultimately enhancing patient safety.

Ryan Wells, InVivoLink CEO, said, “Ranked in the top 5 percent in the nation for joint replacement surgery, IOH is widely recognized as a best-in-class orthopaedic center. As an industry-leading facility, it makes sense that IOH is seeking to further streamline and improve the process for its patients and physicians. The InVivoLink team is honored to partner with IOH and its surgeons to enhance outcomes-related data collection, redefine the standard of care, and focus even more on value to the patient.”

Surgeons utilizing the IVL platform gain access to reports that describe their patient flow, implant utilization per patient, schedule and productivity. IVL’s tools aggregate and categorize practice history and trends, allowing physicians to make informed, evidence-based choices like never before.

“Patient safety is always at the top of our list, and InVivoLink’s next-generation technology harnesses the critical data we need to track and improve surgery outcomes. IVL also helps us be more cost-effective by providing financial and operational information. We gain a clear, up-to-the-minute understanding of implant utilization and learn which physician preference items are the most valuable,” said David Fisher, M.D., director of the Total Joint Center of Excellence at IOH.

“With IVL, I can rest assured that the right device for the right patient will be waiting for me when I walk into the O.R.,” explained Fisher. “In addition to streamlining the process, InVivoLink collects the clinical data that is critical to ensuring patient safety, allowing us to provide highly efficient and effective care. With the continuing surge in joint replacement procedures, we must have actionable, evidence-based data to make the best decisions for our patients.”

The information IVL collects before, during and after joint implant procedures goes into a national registry. IVL’s technology allows physicians and hospitals to collect deep data and even to tailor the information they capture, creating a customized registry specific to their practice.
