CEP America Announces New Contract with Hospitals in California

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CEP America, one of the nation’s largest, independent providers of emergency department (ED) management and staffing solutions, has begun new partnerships with two Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) hospitals in California. St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, CA join nearly eighty hospital emergency departments already working with CEP America, treating 3.5 million patients annually. The partnership commenced on July 1, 2011.

“We are excited for the opportunity to work with the two St. Johns hospitals,” stated Wesley Curry, MD, FACEP, CEP America’s Chief Executive Officer. “As with all eleven of our CHW hospitals, CEP America will bring the same commitment to improving ED performance that results in clinical, operational, and service excellence.”

CEP America, an independent emergency physician-owned partnership, offers a wide range of clinical, staffing and administrative expertise designed to increase clinical quality and service excellence. Utilizing CEP America’s proprietary Rapid Medical Evaluation® (RME) program, the average time-to-provider wait at partner hospitals is 20 minutes below the national average.

Located along the California coast, St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital are a division of Catholic Healthcare West. The two-hospital system is the largest acute-care health organization in all of Ventura County, with a combined total of 346 acute-care beds and serving roughly 61,500 ED patients a year.
