“While we offer a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options at the Apple Valley Medical Center, we are committed to providing preventive medicine as well, including flu shots,” said Adam Berry, FACHE, Administrator and Chief Operating Officer of Apple Valley Medical Center. “We encourage everyone who is eligible to get a flu shot as soon as possible to lessen the impact of influenza on our community this winter.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the seasonal flu vaccine protects against influenza viruses that scientists estimate will circulate during the upcoming season. This year, that includes the 2009 H1N1, the H3N2 and the influenza B viruses. Antibodies begin providing protection about two weeks after vaccination.

The vaccine costs $30 if paid at the time of service. The clinic can also bill an individual’s insurance company, if requested.
