Maine becomes second state to require e-prescribing of controlled substances

Maine now requires e-prescribing of all controlled substances, a move that comes a month after New York became the first state to do so.

Gov. Paul LePage signed a bill into law this week, according to MedCity News, which makes it a requirement that providers and pharmacists check the state's drug monitoring program before prescribing a controlled drug.
