This year's HIMSS Conference and Exhibition will feature hundreds of education sessions and events, about 1,300 vendor exhibits and will be visited by tens of thousands of health IT professionals. You can't be everywhere at once--but you can extend your reach with social media.
The tech-savvy crowd will be taking to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to share their experiences from the conference, highlight salient session quotes and spread breaking news--plus, of course, to network and connect with some of those 40,000 attendees and vendors they won't have time to meet in person.
The official Twitter handle is @HIMSS and the go-to hashtag during the event will be #HIMSS16. To filter out some of the noise the main conference hashtag is bound to produce, HIMSS created a guide of suggested hashtags, which include #Engage4Health, #HITsecurity and #WomenInIT.
HIMSS social media ambassadors will be tweeting news and updates at the event, as well. Following these 20 health IT professionals is a great way to prepare for the event and make sure you stay in the know as you travel through the event venues. HIMSS has made it easy to check in on them all with a curated Twitter list.
