Rowland Pettit

Rowland is a physician-scientist, pathologist, and co-founder and CEO of Aevius Labs. Aevius is building large-scale multimodal foundation models for clinical data to bring frontier reasoning to medicine. Rowland trained in clinical pathology at Mass General Brigham and Harvard after completing his MD, PhD, and MBA. He was previously on the founding team at Modella AI, acquired by AstraZeneca.

Max Lu

Max Lu is co-founder and CTO of Aevius, where he leads the development of APOLLO and its translation into enterprise clinical AI infrastructure. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from MIT, focusing on multimodal AI for healthcare, computational pathology, and biomedical foundation models. Previously, Max served as Chief Science Officer at Modella AI, where he led AI research and early product development through the company’s acquisition by AstraZeneca. His first-author research has appeared in Nature, Nature Medicine, Nature Biomedical Engineering, CVPR, and other leading scientific venues.
