Affordability in Action: Scale Alternative Payment Models to Impact the Economics of Care

ET
60 Minutes
Health plans are under pressure to improve affordability while advancing quality, strengthening provider relationships, and supporting better member outcomes. While administrative efficiency, benefit design, and utilization management all play a role, the greatest long-term opportunity lies in the economics of care itself.

Value-based care (VBC) and alternative payment models (APMs) offer a powerful framework for aligning incentives, improving accountability, and reducing total cost of care. Yet many organizations struggle to move beyond strategy into scalable execution. Success requires the right combination of governance, data transparency, operational infrastructure, and provider alignment.

Join healthcare leaders as they explore how health plans are leveraging VBC and APMs to influence the economics of care, reduce total cost of care, and deliver measurable affordability results.

During this discussion, we’ll explore:
  • How VBC and APMs can influence provider behavior, outcomes, and total cost of care.
  • Why governance, data, and operational infrastructure are critical to scaling payment innovation.
  • Practical strategies health plans are using to translate affordability goals into measurable economic impact.
