Delivering better care to improve health outcomes requires a balance of enhancing the patient experience, improving population health, reducing costs and reducing provider burnout. Learn how advancements in telehealth genetic medicine are supporting health systems in delivering better care and moving closer to the promise of the Quadruple Aim.

Genomic medicine and genetic testing have experienced tremendous growth in recent years driven in part by the impact they have on care delivery and patient health as well as the growth of telehealth service delivery.

In this session, attendees will learn how genetic services can help their health system by:

  • Enhancing patient experience/satisfaction, leading to a >95% patient satisfaction rate 
  • Improving population health, with research that shows how clinically validated digital patient engagement solutions support population risk assessment
  • Managing costs, with insights into how early identification of health risks can help providers and health systems reduce costs and proactively support their patients in their healthcare journey.

Steve is Genome Medical’s Chief Medical Officer. In addition to his role at Genome Medical, Dr. Bleyl is a board-certified medical geneticist that actively delivers care to patients with issues related to cardiac genetics at the University of Utah as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Dept. of Pediatrics. Previously, Steve directed the Clinical Genetics Institute for Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City.

Colleen is a pioneer in embedding genetic counseling services within cardiology. She has advanced the field of cardiovascular genetics by serving as a member of the ClinGen Cardiovascular Domain Working Group, as a contributor to the American Heart Association working committee on policy recommendations for genetics in cardiology and as the chair of the National Society of Genetic Counselors Cardiovascular Genetics Special Interest Group and vice-chair of the NSGC Education Committee. Colleen delivers research studies that demonstrate the impact, efficacy and utilization of care that genetic services deliver for health systems.

Molly is a board-certified genetic counselor with extensive clinical and commercial expertise. She joined Genome Medical from Illumina, where she held market development roles focused on expansion of sequencing applications into emerging clinical markets through evidence generation and strategic partnerships. Molly began her career as a clinical genetic counselor providing prenatal, pediatric and adult genetic counseling services.She currently serves as the President of the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC), having served on the board since 2018 and has held additional leadership roles for the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC).
