VA doctors received bonuses despite poor performance, GAO says

Doctors working for the Veterans Affairs Department received bonuses despite having action taken against them for poor performance, a Government Accountability Office report (.pdf) says. Many doctors continued to receive compensation that is tied directly to their performance, despite concerns over the quality of the healthcare provided, the report says.
