Healthation, a leading provider of core administrative systems for legacy and emerging healthcare payers and administrators, has been chosen to provide their flexible and scalable solution set to six of the 24 Consumer Operated and Oriented Plans (CO-OPs) established through the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Healthation has partnered with three leading business process organizations (BPOs), each of whom will administer the company’s system for two CO-OPs.

“Healthation has continued to be a leader in this market, as evidenced by our selection by 25 percent of CO-OPs that were established as a result of the ACA; this is a direct testament to our capabilities,” said Darin LeGrange, President and CEO of Healthation. “We appreciate the opportunity to establish partnerships with top BPO organizations, and to work with these non-profit health insurers to offer competitive health plans in the individual and small group markets in the states they will serve.”

The post-healthcare reform landscape is experiencing a radical transformation, and health plans are expected to reduce costs, streamline processes, improve member engagement and create new products. With the medical loss ratio (MLR) mandate, it’s more critical than ever for health plans to increase the quality of administrative functions while lowering costs.
