Fired docs' patients help fund new practice

When a practice terminated a popular Tennessee doctor, his patients responded not just with protest but also with their wallets, the Tennessean reported. Within four days of the doctor's firing, which he alleged was due to repeated requests for additional staff, more than 20 individuals donated a combined $4,300 to the doctor's GoFundMe account. The recipient, Robert Steves, M.D., intends to establish a new practice in the same town, based on counsel that the noncompete contract held with his former employer is unenforceable. Article
