The New England Journal of Medicine, one of the best known and respected medical journals in the world, is coming under attack by some researchers, according to a ProPublica report. Critics have zeroed in on an editorial that some found arrogant, a controversial series of articles that ran last year, and delays in publishing corrections -- and question the recent direction the medical journal has taken. In response, Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey M. Drazen, M.D., said the criticism is off-base. Article
