On Tuesday, April 16, Austin Emergency Center (AEC) hosted an open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to commemorate the grand opening of its new critical care facility. Attendees joined the friendly staff of AEC to learn more about its services and to tour the new facility. Austin Chamber of Commerce performed a ribbon-cutting ceremony and light hors d’oeuvres were served.

AEC was founded by four board-certified emergency medicine physicians with more than 50 years’ combined ER experience, including previous practice in cardiac, stroke and trauma centers, military medicine, pediatrics, toxicology, and practice in both urban and rural ERs.

AEC Founder, Dr. Luke Padwick, states, “We created Austin Emergency Center to bring quality emergency care to the local community. We feature a full-service emergency department that can effectively diagnose and initiate treatment for all medical emergencies, from insect bites to heart attacks. We offer fast, concierge-level care, when minutes count.”

AEC provides the quality and level of medical care of a hospital-based ER with a private, patient-focused, private practice — all right in the convenience of your own neighborhood. All testing is done quickly, without the delays associated with traditional, hospital-based emergency departments. In contrast to an urgent care clinic, AEC is a freestanding emergency room. They use the state-of-the-art equipment and technology of a modern hospital emergency room, including CT scans, bedside emergency ultrasound, digital radiology, and a full clinical laboratory — all in the comfort of an upscale clinical environment, without the typical inconveniences associated with a hospital-based setting.

AEC Far West is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are conveniently located at 3563 Far West Blvd., Suite 110. To better serve you, they will be opening a second location this summer on South Lamar. To learn more about the myriad services they provide, visit or call 512-481-2321.
