Abortion doctor files civil rights complaint against hospital for silencing her

A District of Columbia doctor, who performs abortions, has filed a federal civil rights complaint charging the hospital where she works of violating the law by forbidding her to speak publicly about abortion. Diane J. Horvath-Cosper, M.D., an obstetrician and gynecologist, filed the complaint against MedStar Washington Hospital Center, for imposing the gag order. She says the hospital, out of concerns for security in the wake of anti-abortion violence, told her last December not to speak publicly in defense of abortion and its role in healthcare.
