INDIANAPOLIS, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint, Inc., (NYSE: WLP) today announced its Care Management division has won three Dorland Health Silver Crown Awards, more than any other health benefits company.
WellPoint took home top honors for its hospital readmission prevention program and its social work case management program. In addition, Melissa Trownsell, director of case management, won for best senior nurse in the Clinical Nurse category.
Award winners were announced March 8 in Las Vegas at an annual ceremony that recognizes organizations and professionals who provide exceptional services, products and education to the over-55 population. In addition to the award winners, WellPoint's care management team had seven finalists, more than any other public or private health care-related organization.
