Uncertainty of CHIP funding leaving states, children in limbo

If Congress doesn't renew funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) by Sept. 30, 2015, more 8 million children and their families could lose their coverage. That will undo much of the progress achieved in states such as Florida, where the number of uninsured children has dropped 50 percent since 2008, according to the Miami Herald.
