Topaz Shared Services Selects McKesson’s Advanced Reimbursement Solutions

Topaz Shared Services, LLC, and are collaborating to bring more efficient, accurate and transparent claims processing to Blues plans. Topaz, formed in December 2011 by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, will use McKesson’s advanced claims auditing solution and transparency solution to flexibly support complex reimbursement models brought about by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and other market drivers. McKesson’s advanced reimbursement solutions are used by more than 60% of the nation’s Blues plans, a key factor in the company’s decision.

Complementing ClaimsXten is Clear Claim Connection, which allows payers to disclose their claims payment policies, rules and edit rationales directly with their provider networks. Physicians can access this information through the payer’s Web portal, supporting payer-provider partnership by supplying a more transparent view into payment decisions.
