Stephen Hemsley: UnitedHealth will embrace exchanges in 2015

UnitedHealth said it's looking to sell individual qualified health plans on 24 exchanges in 2015, up from five this year, LifeHealthPro reported. The insurer anticipates "meaningful membership activity" in the exchanges next year. "By participating moderately this year, and then watching closely and listening, we have learned about pricing, networks, regulatory structures, distribution, and the consumer's mindset," said UnitedHealth President Stephen Hemsley. Insurers across the United States want in on the exchanges, with at least 27 new insurers offering plans on the marketplaces in 2015. Article
