Republicans may want Americans to keep federal subsidies until 2017

Congressional Republicans are mulling whether to allow individuals to keep their Affordable Care Act federal subsidies until 2017, reported The Hill. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who introduced a new proposal this week, said enabling people to maintain their subsidies is simplier and, in doing so, eliminates the need to create a new system of tax credits. More than half a dozen GOP alternative ACA plans have surfaced since the Supreme Court heard the King v. Burwell case regarding the legality of federal subsidies in March. Republicans hope to agree on one plan before the Court issues its ruling in June. Article
