QuadraMed Secures Three New Contracts for its Identity Management Solutions

Sacred Heart Health System, Piedmont Healthcare and Orlando Health select EMPI solutions from QuadraMed to improve patient safety throughout the continuum of care

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HIMSS QuadraMed Booth #2759 - QuadraMed® Corporation, a leading provider of healthcare technologies and services that improve the quality, safety and efficiency of patient care, today announced it has signed contracts with the following three healthcare organizations for its (#1 in KLAS*) Identity Management solutions:

  • Sacred Heart Health System, a Pensacola, Fla.-based health system with three facilities;
  • Piedmont Healthcare, an Atlanta-based health system with four hospitals, and two physician practice management sites, which includes Piedmont Heart Institute; and
  • Orlando Health, a 1,780-bed healthcare network serving Central Florida.

“We have enjoyed a solid partnership with QuadraMed for years, and as a forward-thinking health system, we realized that in order to share our electronic health records through health information exchange in the future we would need a more comprehensive solution to ensure data accuracy and patient safety, so we made the move to QuadraMed’s #1 in KLAS Identity Management solution,” said Keith Eggert, FHFMA, vice president of revenue management at Orlando Health.

QuadraMed’s suite of identity management solutions enables health systems to detect and resolve erroneous or duplicate patient records stored within their information systems. The offering, which includes enterprise MPI software and clean-up services, ensures that one accurate, clinical record is retained per patient regardless of the data source, application or facility visited. QuadraMed’s MPI solutions provide health systems with the necessary foundation for Electronic Health Record implementation and health information exchange across facilities and communities of care. Utilization of QuadraMed’s solutions ultimately improve patient safety and coordination of care.

“As part of our migration from disparate health information systems to a common platform, we recognized the need for a thorough MPI clean up and comprehensive MPI solution that would allow us to minimize duplicate patient records enterprise-wide,” said Charlie Hall, corporate CFO at Piedmont Healthcare. “By identifying any overlapping patient matches across databases and matching records to one MPI, we will be able to enhance data integrity and improve patient safety.”

QuadraMed’s EMPI solutions were ranked #1 in KLAS in the 2011 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services report. QuadraMed has achieved this ranking for seven of the past eight years (2004-2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011). KLAS Enterprises is a research firm specializing in monitoring and reporting on the performance of healthcare vendors. Its mission is to improve delivery by independently measuring vendor performance for the benefit of healthcare providers, partners, consultants, investors and vendors.

QuadraMed will demonstrate its EMPI solutions in booth #2759 and the Interoperability Showcase at the annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference, which takes place from February 21-23 at The Sands Expo in Las Vegas.
