Public divided over reform law, poll finds

Public opinion of the reform law is almost evenly divided, though the number of people opposing it has declined, according to a new poll from ABC News/Washington Post. The poll of 1,005 people, found 46 percent of Americans support the reform law. Another 49 percent oppose it--down from a record high of 57 percent opposed to the law last month amid the glitchy health insurance exchange rollout. The poll also found 60 percent of Americans want a delay of the law, but that's a decrease of 11 points from last month. Another key finding is that 37 percent of people in 2010 thought the law would improve the healthcare system overall, but only 19 percent now think it has done so. What's more, 47 percent say the law has made healthcare worse. The poll also measured the public's approval of President Barack Obama, finding 43 percent of Americans approve of his job performance, which is only one percentage point higher than his approval rating from November.
