Teamwork and Collaboration are the Focus of Winning Motivational Videos
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Prescription Solutions by OptumRx, a leading pharmacy benefit management (PBM) organization and a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) company, has won an American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) 2011 BEST Award in recognition of its Teamwork videos.
Prescription Solutions was among 32 organizations from a worldwide competition to receive BEST Awards last night at ceremonies in Washington, D.C.
This is Prescription Solutions’ second ASTD win. In 2009, Prescription Solutions was the first PBM in the nation to receive a BEST Award in recognition of its Customer Advocacy initiative.
The winning videos are part of Prescription Solutions’ TEAMwork initiative. Under the acronym of TEAM – Together Everyone Achieves More – a series of 18 video messages were posted on an Intranet; once a week, messages with a link to a video were sent to employees from various Prescription Solutions leaders. The videos explored four integral dimensions of effective teamwork and how each dimension helps drive higher employee performance within their department, across the company and across UnitedHealth Group. The videos’ goal was to help employees recognize and value the power of teams. In addition, employees were invited to share their teamwork experiences on an internal website.

In addition to the TEAMwork initiative videos, ASTD also recognized training videos for Prescription Solutions call center employees that were silent so audio would not hinder call center agents’ phone conversations. For other videos, agents were given ear buds so they could listen and watch on their computers without disturbing co-workers.
