Premier Healthcare Alliance Experts Address Reform, ACOs and HIT in May

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Experts from the Premier healthcare alliance will address pressing issues such as health reform, accountable care organizations (ACOs) and healthcare information technology (HIT) around the country in May.

On May 23, Premier President and CEO Susan DeVore will be an opening keynote at The World Congress 2nd Annual Leadership ACO Summit in Vienna, Va. She will address how hospitals and other providers can integrate quality, patient safety, cost, and information technology into a single improvement agenda. By leveraging data and collaborative strategies that link payment to clinical quality and patient outcomes, hospitals can achieve high quality care at the lowest possible cost with greater accountability.

Also, on May 5-6, DeVore attended the Rowland-Hite Health Planning seminar in Charlotte, N.C., where she discussed reform and the recent ACO regulations.

Childs will also speak at the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality in Phoenix on May 12. He will discuss accountable care and how hospitals should start making changes today.

On May 11, Richard Bankowitz, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.P., Premier enterprise-wide chief medical officer, will speak at the Dorland Health Leadership Summit in Washington. He will discuss leadership in accepting change and collaborating to improve healthcare practices.

Premier Vice President of Accountable Care Collaboratives Barbara Gray will speak at the Hospitals and Health Systems Conference for Becker’s Hospital Review in Chicago on May 19. She will discuss how it is essential for hospitals to participate now in accountable care.

Additionally on May 18, Joe Pleasant, Premier senior vice president and chief information officer, will speak at the 2011 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium in Cambridge, Mass. He will cover HIT as it relates to health reform, the economy and patient care.
