Preferred Care Partners announced its 2013 Medicare Advantage plans, which offer a variety of options as Medicare beneficiaries choose their health coverage for the next year.

Medicare beneficiaries living in Miami-Dade and Broward counties can enroll in a Preferred Care Partners Medicare Advantage plan during the Open Enrollment Period, which begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7. Coverage begins Jan. 1.

Preferred Care Partners’ 2013 Medicare Advantage health plans continue to offer more benefits and value than beneficiaries can find with Original Medicare. All plans include Part D prescription drug coverage, have a $0 deductible and $0 copay for office visits to primary care physicians. Some plans offer comprehensive dental coverage that includes dentures and a $0 copay for prescription drugs on tiers 1 and 2 of the plan prescription drug list, even after beneficiaries enter the coverage gap. Select plans also provide additional savings with a $300 annual allowance toward eyewear and either a monthly or quarterly benefit for over-the-counter medications and other health care items.

“For 2013, Preferred Care Partners is offering Medicare beneficiaries a wide range of flexible, comprehensive health plans that our members have asked for and deserve,” said Joseph L. Caruncho, CEO of Preferred Care Partners. “Because health care is personal, we offer a variety of plans in South Florida tailored to meet beneficiaries’ individual needs and have a robust care provider network that gives members access to health care services close to where they live.”

This fall, beneficiaries have only a 54-day window to select a Medicare Advantage plan for 2013. Once the Open Enrollment Period ends Dec. 7, most beneficiaries have to wait a full year before they can switch their Medicare Advantage coverage.
