Pennsylvania begins Medicaid expansion, overhaul amid uncertainty

Today marks the beginning of open enrollment for Healthy Pennsylvania, a Medicaid expansion program expected to cover about 600,000 residents, most of them low-income, single, working adults. The administration of outgoing Republican Gov. Tom Corbett also continues its Medicaid overhaul, which would offer additional benefits to more than 900,000 residents already on Medicaid, even though Democratic Gov.-elect Tom Wolf opposes the "complicated" overhaul process.
