New site could confuse consumers seeking Healthcare.gov

A site that has a near-identical URL and a similar look and feel to Healthcare.gov could cause confusion during open enrollment, reports The Washington Post. Healthcare.com, brainchild of Jeff Smedsrud, provides information on 93,000 plans from about 180 insurers and allows consumers to compare and shop for plans online. Healthcare advocates fear the similarities could confuse consumers who are searching for the official federal exchange site. And it may not provide the correct information regarding ACA subsidies for shoppers, so they could miss out on financial assistance. Smedsrud also managed to snag the URL Healthcare.org. Article
