Network Health, a Massachusetts health plan that provides access to high-quality health care for nearly 215,000 Massachusetts residents with low and moderate incomes, announced today that the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) ranked Network Health the third highest Medicaid health plan nationally, according to its prominent Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2012 – 2013.

Since 2010, Network Health has been a top-ten NCQA Ranked Health plan. This year, through continuous quality and service improvement, Network Health received the highest possible rating in the customer satisfaction, prevention, and treatment domains, as well as successfully climbed up four positions to become the third highest ranked health plan in the country.

This year, Network Health is also the first health plan in New England and amongst 10 health plans nationally to earn the NCQA Multicultural Health Care Distinction. The award reflects Network Health’s dedication to its mission to improve the health and well-being of its members and their diverse communities. Additionally, in 2010, Network Health earned NCQA’s “Excellent” Health Plan Accreditation status, NCQA’s highest accreditation rating, for its (MassHealth) plan.

NCQA is the nation’s most trusted and comprehensive independent source for evaluating health care quality and value. During the Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2012 – 2013, NCQA ranked 115 Medicaid health plans across the United States. Rankings are based on measures of clinical quality, measures of member satisfaction, and the results of NCQA’s Health Plan Accreditation review. To be eligible for NCQA’s Health Insurance Plan Rankings, health plans must authorize public release of their performance information and submit enough data for a statistically valid analysis.
