National Business Group On Health To Release Results Of Nationwide Survey Of Employees On Affordable Care Act, Exchanges, Future Of Health Benefits

WASHINGTON, October 15, 2013 – The National Business Group on Health will host a press briefing on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. ET at the National Press Club to announce the results of a survey of employees on their perspectives on the Affordable Care Act, health insurance exchanges and the future of benefits and health care delivery. Helen Darling, President and CEO of the NBGH, will discuss the findings of the survey which asked more than 1,500 U.S. employees the following topics:

  • How familiar are employees with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how do they expect it to affect them?
  • Are employees confident in purchasing health insurance on their own?
  • Are private or public exchanges a viable option to the current model of employer provided plans? Are employees interested in using them?
  • How do employees view many of the innovations in the delivery of health care, including use of comparative effectiveness research, Centers of Excellence and preferred provider networks?

Darling will also discuss what employers can do with the results in their efforts to control costs and provide high quality health benefits.
