Medicare Part B premiums hold steady

Thanks to healthcare reforms, 2014 Medicare Part B premiums and deductibles will see zero growth, while the provision to close the prescription drug donut saved more than $8 billion, the Centers Medicare & Medicaid Services announced this week. "We continue to work hard to keep Medicare beneficiaries' costs low by rewarding providers for producing better value for their patients and fighting fraud and abuse," CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner said in the statement. In 2014, Medicare Part B monthly premiums will remain at $104.90 and deductible will stay unchanged at $147. Statement
