Medica Continues Expansion of ACO Offerings in Minnesota

Fairview Health Services, North Memorial Health Care and Medica have partnered to create , the largest accountable care organization (ACO) in Minnesota.

In 2012, Medica was the first health plan in the region to align with a major health care system in the development of an ACO. That ACO, Fairview Health Advantage, has successfully reengineered the approach to health care and member service. The addition of North Memorial adds 26 primary care clinics in the northwestern and western suburbs and two additional hospitals, North Memorial Medical Center and Maple Grove Hospital. Fairview and North Memorial Vantage will provide access to more than 2,500 primary and specialty care physicians, and eight hospitals.

Fairview and North Memorial Vantage is offered on . It will be available for new and renewing groups beginning with Nov. 1, 2013, effective dates. Current Fairview Health Advantage members will also have access to North Memorial providers beginning Nov. 1, 2013.
