Louisiana Blues introduces mobile fitness app

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana has introduced a mobile app to help people eat right and exercise more. The app, which is only available on an iPhone, provides a list of 100-calorie snacks, visual portion guide, exercises, BMI calculator and educational videos, reported the Donaldsonville Chief. The app also includes a dashboard for users to track physical activity, food intake, health stats and body measurements, as well as a calendar with health-related events across the state. The insurer said the app is part of its free Louisiana 2 Step program. "The 2 Step app really takes the program to the next level by making it easier than ever for participants to get and stay fit while on the go," said Blue Cross Director of Community Relations Christy Reeves.
