Seniors invited to select from Kaiser Permanente's Medical & Part D Prescription Drug Plans

ROCKVILLE, Md., Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States on Jan. 1, 2011, began accepting enrollments for its Medicare Plus (Cost) Plans in conjunction with the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period. The disenrollment period is a new window created by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to allow seniors to cancel their Medicare Advantage plan with Part D coverage in favor of Original Medicare. Kaiser Permanente's health benefit plans combined with its multi-disciplinary, integrated health care delivery system offers unique options to Medicare beneficiaries.  Kaiser Permanente's Medicare plans are available with and without Medicare Part D drug coverage.  Kaiser Permanente members, with the support of its state-of-the-art electronic medical records system Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect, have access to nationally recognized coordinated care that includes doctors, nurses, pharmacists, x-ray and lab technicians who all work together to produce quality outcomes.

"This new disenrollment period is a unique opportunity for Medicare beneficiaries in the D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas to take a closer look at our Medicare Plus plans and to be able to experience the advantages of Kaiser Permanente's integrated health care delivery system in 2011.  With our ongoing geographic expansion and hiring of physicians, we hope that beneficiaries will take advantage of this brief window of time," said Jeff Goldman, executive director, government programs, Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States.
