Insurers extend ACA coverage deadline in 37 states

The official deadline for signing up for coverage as of Jan. 1 through an Affordable Care Act (ACA) insurance exchange has passed, but numerous insurers have voluntarily extended their application period for ACA plans, according to eHealth. In all, 37 states have at least one insurer that's still selling a non-subsidized ACA plan outside of the federal marketplace. In 17 states, the deadline is today; in 12 more, the deadline is Dec. 31. Many state-operated insurance exchanges have also extended their deadlines as well. Statement
