Informational Seminars Set To Help Kentucky Retirement Systems’ Members Get Most From New Medicare Advantage Plan

Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS) and (NYSE: HUM) will hold a series of 27 informational seminars in cities across Kentucky for KRS retirees interested in learning about their new Medicare Advantage health plan options through Humana.
The new plan, effective January 1, 2013, offers KRS members a wide array of health and wellness benefits, including industry-leading clinical programs and access to fitness center memberships through . SilverSneakers offers free health education seminars, exercise classes and social activities that help members manage their health and allow them to interact with others who share an interest in a healthy lifestyle.
“We’re utilizing many communication channels to give KRS members information about their plan options and give them the tools they need to get the most from their health plan benefits,” said Rick Remmers, Vice President of Employer Group Distribution Leadership for Humana. “The seminars we’re holding across Kentucky are an ideal way for KRS members to get information and ask questions face-to-face, allowing them to fully understand their options.”

The seminars will give KRS retirees detailed information about Medicare Advantage and how it works, specific benefits of the Humana health plan available through KRS, and how to enroll.

The contract with the Kentucky Retirement System was awarded to Humana in August 2012. Humana will provide Medicare Advantage health plan options for up to 36,000 KRS Medicare eligible retirees.
