Humana sells Concentra brand for $1 billion

Humana has sold Concentra, its occupational health and wellness business, to MJ Acquisitions Corp., a joint venture of Select Medical Holdings (an operator of outpatient rehabilitation clinics) and private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. The cash deal is for approximately $1.055 billion. Humana said the company's recent strategy of investing in primary care platforms "has proven to better advance the company's integrated care delivery model than Concentra's focus on occupational injuries."
