Agreement delivers greater access to broad range of prescription drugs for Humana members
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Humana Pharmacy Solutions, Humana Inc.’s (NYSE: HUM) pharmacy-benefit management division, today announced it has selected AmerisourceBergen Corporation as Humana’s primary wholesaler for drug purchasing. The agreement will provide industry-leading service for Humana facilities and aligns with Humana Pharmacy Solutions’ generic-drug sourcing strategy and its promotion of generic-drug use.
The agreement with AmerisourceBergen – one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical services companies – enhances Humana Pharmacy Solutions’ ability to meet the increasing demand from members and employer-customers for prescription drugs delivered by Humana’s specialty and mail-order pharmacies. The agreement also expands Humana members’ access to generic equivalents of popular brand drugs.
