Humana Names J. Edward Quinlan, Jr. as President of Specialty Products in Southern California

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today that J. Edward Quinlan, Jr. has been appointed president of specialty products for Humana’s Southern California operations.

In this role, Quinlan will be responsible for overall management and strategic planning for Humana’s dental, vision, group term life, individual term life, disability income, accident, critical illness, cancer and stop-loss insurance products in Southern California. He will be based in Irvine.

“Ed will play a key role in continuing to build customer satisfaction by offering Humana’s specialty products that will help employers improve employee retention and productivity,” said Mark El-Tawil, regional chief executive officer for Humana’s West Region commercial operations. “Ed has more than 30 years of experience in corporate benefits management, sales and marketing. He is perfectly suited to help Humana serve our customers and grow our specialty business in Southern California.”

Quinlan most recently served as a regional manager for The Hartford. He also held roles at Buck Consultants, MetLife and Liberty Mutual, in addition to other positions. Quinlan is a graduate of Bowdoin College.
