Humana faces $3.3M fine for not reporting Medicaid fraud

Humana (NYSE: HUM) has been fined $3.3 million for failing to promptly report Medicaid fraud or abuse to Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration. The insurer hasn't disclosed what it knew about suspected fraud and abuse by Medicaid providers or recipients since September 2009, reports the Sun-Sentinel. Humana's Florida spokesman Mitchell Lubitz said the company is reviewing the letters and will determine its next steps, including whether to appeal the fine. Article
