Hillary Clinton floats expansion of Medicare program

Though she has criticized Bernie Sanders' call for a "Medicare for all" healthcare plan, Hillary Clinton is nonetheless moving to the left on the issue by advocating for what the New York Times describes as "Medicare for more." At a campaign event in Virginia this week, Clinton said she'd be in favor of a public option in which individuals--perhaps starting at age 50 or 55--could buy into the Medicare program to access coverage earlier than age 65. That suggestion, one expert tells the publication, is evidence that Sanders' campaign is having an effect on Clinton's policy stances as she strives to lock up the Democratic presidential nomination.
