HealthPlan Services(SM) Celebrates Multiple Go-To-Exchange(SM) Milestones in Wake of Federally Facilitated Marketplace Launch

HPS is among the first to confirm full enrollment of an individual in a qualified health plan via its innovative exchange platform

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthPlan ServicesSM (HPS), the nation's leading technology, sales, retention and administrative services provider for the insurance and managed care markets, is celebrating successful go-live of its Go-To-Exchange SM platform, a comprehensive suite of services designed to streamline carrier participation in insurance marketplaces. It is just one of several significant milestones HPS has achieved related to the opening of the Federally Facilitated Marketplaces (FFM) and State Based Marketplaces (SBM).

In July, HPS successfully tested compatibility of the Go-To-Exchange platform's technical connections and file formats with the FFM and several SBMs, including those in California, Colorado and Maryland. These early demonstrations led to HPS being among the first to complete a fully effectuated individual enrolled in a Qualified Health Plan (QHP) on an FFM website —an accomplishment made more significant by the ongoing technical difficulties with Federal websites and call centers that led to sluggish enrollment nationwide.

"Within days of the FFM opening, we received confirmation from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that enrollments facilitated across our Go-To-Exchange platform were among the earliest confirmations," said Jeff Bak, HPS president and CEO. "It was an historic moment for HPS and our insurance partners. We successfully completed the enrollment process for multiple individual applicants and communicated the final result back to the Federal marketplace."

Go-To-Exchange enables carriers to successfully manage the administrative and technical aspects of State and Federal marketplaces. It leverages HPS' proven best practices and advanced web-based technologies to deliver industry-leading capabilities and operational efficiencies that maximize participation in the insurance exchange market. By integrating seamlessly with a wide range marketplaces and third-party systems, Go-To-Exchange enables carriers to rapidly and cost-effectively launch and operate in multiple environments.

As part of Go-To-Exchange, HPS offers a number of services to address the technical and administrative needs of carriers participating in public and private insurance exchanges. ExchangeLinkSM facilitates the technical connections necessary to link carriers to exchanges, while SalesLinkSM supports customer acquisition, enrollment and welcome letter issuance. ServiceLinkSM provides in-force administration, member billing, tax credit/subsidy collection, premium reconciliation and customer service, and LoyaltyLinkSM delivers improved retention through advanced analytics, market analysis, cross-selling and renewal plan option during open enrollment.

"These early successes demonstrate conclusively that Go-To-Exchange, coupled with our integrated business processes, overcomes compliance barriers and enables carriers to leverage this unique opportunity to expand their membership across multiple FFMs and SBMs," said Bak.
