Healthcare CEO fails to pay employees' premiums

The CEO of a now defunct behavioral healthcare company didn't pay insurance premiums for her employees, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance. Rebecca Horne Wood, CEO of Alpha/Omega Health Care, has been arrested and charged with failing to pay premiums she deducted from employee pay and failing to notify employees that their plans were canceled. Between November 2009 and February 2010, Horne Wood collected employee premiums without forwarding the money to the group insurance provider, which led to her employer-based health insurance being terminated, the department said Thursday. Alpha/Omega Health Care closed in March 2010 and filed for bankruptcy in April 2010. Statement
