HealthAmerica® Appoints Mark DaShiell as Vice President of Quality Improvement

HARRISBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- To continue its tradition of compliance with state and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards, HealthAmerica has hired Mark DaShiell, RN, MBA, as vice president, Health Services in Quality Improvement. In this role, DaShiell accountable for statewide Quality Improvement with emphasis on Medicare STARs, Medicaid P4P, ACOs/Medical Homes, HEDIS and NCQA Accreditation.

“Mark’s quality improvement background and over 20 years’ experience make him an ideal candidate to fill this position,” said Robert Mirsky, chief medical officer of HealthAmerica. “His project management skills, clinical nursing experience, and proficiency in quality control standards will directly benefit HealthAmerica and our employees,” Mirsky added.

Previously, DaShiell served as director of Medical Management Operations at Blue Shield of California. DaShiell also served at vice president of Health Care Services for Health Net of California through March 2008.

DaShiell received degrees in nursing and health service administration from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
