Health Net Sponsors 8th Annual Navy 5 Miler

Proceeds to help benefit the overall well-being of active duty service members and their families

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Health Net Federal Services, LLC, part of the Government Contracts segment of Health Net, Inc. (NYSE:HNT), today announced its sponsorship of the 8th Annual Navy 5 Miler scheduled to be held on Sept. 25, 2011. The race, which is open to military and civilian runners, will start and finish at the Pentagon, winding along the Pentagon Lagoon, Pentagon Memorial, Arlington Cemetery and Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Va.

All proceeds of the Navy 5 Miler will support the programs and services provided by the Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), to help improve the quality of life for U.S. active duty military and their families. The mission of the MWR is to provide quality support and recreational services that contribute to the retention, readiness, mental, physical and emotional well-being of active duty personnel and Department of Defense employees.
