NCQA ranks quality of commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans across the nation

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Health Net, Inc. (NYSE: HNT) health plans in Arizona and California earned impressive rankings in the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA’s) Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-11 and are among the highest-ranked commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans within their states.

Health Net highlights from the NCQA’s latest rankings:

  • Health Net of California’s commercial health plan is the highest-ranked major network-model commercial health plan in California for the third year in a row.
  • Health Net of California’s Medicare plan (Seniority Plus) is the highest-ranked network-model Medicare plan in the state for three straight years.
  • Health Net of California’s Medicaid plan (Medi-Cal) is the highest-ranked Medicaid plan in the state for the second year in a row.
  • Health Net of Arizona is the highest-ranked commercial health plan in Arizona for the fourth straight year.

NCQA Accreditation

Additionally, NCQA has affirmed the existing “Excellent” accreditation statuses of Health Net of California’s commercial HMO, POS and Medicare lines of business, and Health Net of Arizona’s HMO line of business.

Health Net of California’s PPO and Medicaid (Medi-Cal) lines of business earned the “Commendable” NCQA accreditation status.
