Georgia Blues owes hospital $22M, lawsuit claims

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia is facing a lawsuit from the Medical Center of Central Georgia, which claims it is owed more than $22 million from the insurer, FierceHealthcare reported. The hospital said Blue Cross has been underpaying it for services rendered, including almost $1.2 million in reimbursements for cardiac catheterization procedures in 2011 and about $2.2 million for claims involving babies who were healthy at birth since 2009.
