This invitation-only summit, supported by Medidata, Covance, BASF, CVS Caremark, Lockheed Martin and Onyx, will bring together leaders from various disciplines in the healthcare industry for a non-partisan discussion on how consumers will drive disruption and change.
“Patients are leading the revolution in healthcare – and they’re demanding more choice and transparency and using technology to obtain the best information to be more in control of their care,” said Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media. “This summit will highlight how key stakeholders can work together to create actionable solutions and finance new systems that can offer better outcomes for patients.”
“The Forbes Healthcare Summit provides a unique opportunity to connect with leaders across the health ecosystem on the most pressing topics,” said Mikael Dolsten, President, Pfizer Worldwide Research & Development, who is returning this year to participate in the second annual summit. “I look forward to exploring how we can bring innovation to patients more rapidly by harnessing the power of emerging human biology, next-generation data and technology and new collaboration models.”
Attendees of the summit include executives, doctors, thinkers from hospitals, and the pharmaceuticals and insurance businesses.
“Following the success of last year’s summit, we’re reconvening top leaders in healthcare to ask how the healthcare consumer can be given a voice,” said Matthew Herper, Forbes Senior Editor, Science & Medicine. “We plan to ask tough questions like: will the healthcare exchanges from the Affordable Care Act work? How will insurance companies harness technology to change the way they do business? Are walk-in clinics a new revolution? Our goal is to continue to inspire innovative thinking to drive real change.”
