ConnectedHealth, the first consumer-focused ecommerce platform offering a robust benefits marketplace, today announced that it has been selected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide qualified health plans (QHP) to eligible consumers via the Federally-Facilitated Marketplace (FFM), the federal government’s online health insurance marketplace. As a result of this agreement, ConnectedHealth will provide the most comprehensive range of health insurance shopping options —including private plans and plans available in the state or federal marketplace —to help employees who have employer-sponsored options, those shopping for individual coverage, and those who may qualify for a subsidy.

Under the Affordable Care Act, states are required to either open their own marketplace to provide access to state-selected QHPs, or to give citizens access to the federal marketplace. Currently, 36 states and Washington, D.C. have chosen the federal option; enabling subsidy-eligible individuals in those states without employer-sponsored health coverage to purchase coverage via the federal marketplace.

“Selecting health insurance is complicated enough as it is, but health reform has increased the need for easy-to-use resources to help consumers navigate this complex environment,” said John Fiacco, CEO, ConnectedHealth. “The stakes are high for both the government and for employers to ensure that consumers are choosing the right plan for their needs, and that they truly understand the risk and cost implications of their choices. At ConnectedHealth, we’ve pioneered the most effective and intuitive platform to make this process more straight-forward for employees, guiding them through the selection process. We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer this same positive shopping experience for employees eligible for QHPs.”

ConnectedHealth offers an award-winning ecommerce shopping platform that reduces costs, increases satisfaction and provides consumers with the confidence that they’ve made a wise choice about their benefits. With CMS’s selection of ConnectedHealth, the company’s employer clients can provide this same popular shopping experience to all their employees, making it easy for both subsidy-eligible and non-eligible employees to create personalized comparisons and select the right coverage options for themselves and their families.

ConnectedHealth drives corporate growth by making it easy for employees to be healthy and financially secure. Founded by pioneers of the consumer transparency movement, the Company’s award-winning consumer-friendly platform delivers innovative benefits strategies while offering consumers the most intuitive benefits shopping platform available. To learn more about how ConnectedHealth is revolutionizing group and individual benefits, visit us at  or on ,  and .
