Clear Vision Information Systems has launched a new product designed to help Medicare Advantage plans and physicians better manage their quality efforts in caring for those on Medicare.
The new application, ScoreMax, provides users with detailed “report cards” tied to HEDIS and STARS performance. HEDIS and STARS are a set of quality metrics used to measure the quality of care and services provided. Higher scores can indicate better care, and consumers are increasingly using these ratings to help guide their health plan decision making. Higher scores can also result in financial incentives for the health plans and providers.
“The robust analytics provided by ScoreMax will assist health plans and physician groups in both retrospective and prospective action planning,” said Tom Peterson, president and CEO of Clear Vision. “By providing important information on each patient’s care plan and history right at the point of care, physicians can do a more complete health assessment during patient visits.
“ScoreMax’s software application will also prepare gap reports that identify missing assessments for a given patient and make it easy to pinpoint opportunities to improve care,” Peterson continued. “This information will help health plans and providers prioritize their member outreach efforts and better target eligible members for disease management programs.”
Fueled by the users own claims data, ScoreMax will initially support many critical HEDIS and STARS measures including breast cancer screenings, care for older adults, follow-up after hospitalization of mental illness, and glaucoma screenings in older adults. It will also provide intelligence relative to adult BMI testing, adult access to preventive health services, readmission rates, access to primary care doctor visits, and many other areas.
