CIGNA HealthCare Mid-Atlantic Among Top Private Health Insurance Plans, According to National Committee for Quality Assura

BLOOMFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CIGNA Mid-Atlantic – which serves customers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. – is among the highest ranked private HMO and Point of Service health care plans in the nation, according to NCQA's Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011 - Private.

NCQA’s independent rankings are based on quality of care, customer service and accreditation scores. Additionally, CIGNA Mid-Atlantic is the highest-ranked plan in the state of Maryland and in the District of Columbia for the fifth consecutive year.** CIGNA Mid-Atlantic also achieves the top-ranked distinction for the third consecutive year in the state of Virginia.**
